    Different Confidence Levels

I don't understand something about Confidence Levels...big surprise, I know.

I don't get what the 4 different confidences below mean...20, 195, 11 and 85. I intially thought it was different versions of the disc but on many of them the pressing offset is the same. Here is the weird/concerning part. On EVERY album I have ripped, I never have the highest confidence and almost always have the lowest one...sometimes by a wide margin...below being an example.

Some are only a small difference...10 vs 17.

    Track 1: Ripped LBA 0 to 19140 (4:15) in 0:20. Filename: C:\Users\Peter\Music\Janis Joplin\Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits\01 Janis Joplin - Piece of My Heart.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 10) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: FA0455E5 AccurateRip CRC: C053A9AA [DiscID: 010-000f0924-0077cb36-8509cc0a-1]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 10 [CRCv1 c053a9aa]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 2 [CRCv2 6c249c61], Using Pressing Offset +1251
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 17 [CRCv1 43bafcad], Using Pressing Offset +1251
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 16 [CRCv1 c8e840fb], Using Pressing Offset +961

    Others are a huge difference...20 vs. 195

    Track 1: Ripped LBA 0 to 16595 (3:41) in 0:24. Filename: C:\Users\Peter\Music\Disturbed\Believe\01 Disturbed - Prayer.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 20) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: B51AC9E4 AccurateRip CRC: A763E31B (CRCv2) [DiscID: 012-001618ef-00d23676-9f0e820d-1]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 20 [CRCv2 a763e31b]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 195 [CRCv1 4d480d4b]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 11 [CRCv2 19bb44c0], Using Pressing Offset -787
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 85 [CRCv1 dd4a1478], Using Pressing Offset -787

    or this one...

    Track 1: Ripped LBA 32 to 23360 (5:11) in 0:27. Filename: C:\Users\Peter\Music\Fleetwood Mac\The Dance\01 Fleetwood Mac - The Chain.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 20) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: 10598258 AccurateRip CRC: 7B1B668C (CRCv2) [DiscID: 017-0032122c-02737def-eb129211-1]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 20 [CRCv2 7b1b668c]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 194 [CRCv1 2605f7a3]
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 5 [CRCv2 4d8ea089], Using Pressing Offset -434
AccurateRip Verified Confidence 20 [CRCv1 41bd782], Using Pressing Offset -434

Are they different pressings? And if so...is it possible out about 150 discs ripped so far, I have NEVER been in the group with the highest confidence? It seems that likelihood of that being coincidence it improbable.

They are different pressings, and your rip has verified against all of them, including the high confidence ones...

Thanks! good to know that they are all good. Just for my own curiosity...why would I literally never have a high-confidence pressing? Could it be a geographic thing as it relates to distribution of product vs. users of AccurateRip I'm in the US. Out of 200+ CDs, I found one where I my pressing was in the higher confidence group. Just seems odd. I know the rips are good...just curious.

v2 CRC is better so is used in preference to a v1 CRC (which has the higher confidence).
