When opening DB Poweramp Music Converter in the Select Music File to convert dialog. If I choose a filename written entirely in Chinese characters. Then try to convert it from M4A (iTunes) to OGG I get the following error back:

The file 'C:Documents and SettingsKatMijn documentenMijn ontvangen bestanden ????.m4a' could not be opened.

You can see that dbPoweramp Music converter has changed the charachters to ??? and now cannot open the file.

Can proper Unicode support please be built into dbPoweramp Music converter?

It will be for Release 12.

Unicode isn't in release 11, I'm afraid.

Maybe there should be a quickfix in R11 that dMC won't try to "correct" the file path.

The problem is that dMC can only read ASCII characters. There is no "quick" fix for this problem as it requires rewriting how dMC reads and writes file paths.

I remember Spoon saying quite recently ago that having Unicode support would mean rewriting the whole code.

Translation: Wait for r12! :)
