The Lame.exe codec is old, 3.93. The dMC version is 3.96.1.
Why lame.exe, because the DLL codec is missing the medium preset.

IIRC, you download the lame.exe yourself to use with the Lame.exe codec.

er....excuse my rudeness....but what the hell are you talking about? :D :D

Lame isn't old. What do you mean by old? You mean that it hasn't been updated since last year? Not our fault. Lame is still the best MP3 encoder out there!

The CLI one is not updated as much as the DLL one in dMC.

Excuse me for being rude, but RTFM (my message, this site). By old I simply meant that 3.93 is older than 3.96. dMC has 3.96 and the lame.exe codec download is 3.93. I assumed that illustrate would want to provide the same lame version in whatever format it delivers, which happens to be in two forms (dll and exe). I assumed this fell through the cracks. Hence my post.
