Is there a reason why, when I start ripping a CD, that dAP starts playing? I have the latest beta. One reason I ask is that I cannot listen to audio while I am ripping a CD, as it sounds horrible.

Is your drive set to Auto Play?

Rephrase: It resumes playing my music collection. I don't have dAP set to auto-play that i know of.

Oh, that's novel! WHich beta programs do you mean? dAP or dMC Audio CD Input? And if so, can you point me to it, as I don't remember whether I got all the betas or not? :p

OK, got the same ones myself. dAP didn't start by itself.
I did get WMP starting after I loaded the cd because this is my auto-play kicking in and I don't have any files associated with dAP by default.

dAP isn't associated with any files. Also, I have dAP sitting in the sys tray paused when it starts playing. Mabye if I stop it, it won't do this, but I'd rather find another solution.

Oh, so you have it set to load at Windows start-up. I think maybe it's on stand-by and as soon as it detects a cd it goes to work.
Did you also set dMC Audio cd inoput to start ripping automatically as soon as you put in a cd?

No, it's not set to auto-rip a CD on insert. I tell dMC to start ripping. Also, dAP starts playing whether I'm converting files or ripping a CD. And I launch dAP myself, not on startup. However, me leaving my computer running for a week at a time kinda leaves things running. :D

Hmm, you mean dAP and dMC are tied together?
Am I dreaming, or did I see a Preview option somewhere in dMC?

Preview? Just looked through the dMC options and couldn't find a preview options. I have the play bar in CDGrab, but I don't use it. Also, if I stop dAP it doesn't resume play when I start converting.

So I'm dreaming :p
Does your conversion automatically add to your music collection? Maybe that's what dAP taps into?

No, that option is turned off.

But... but... but...
Well, there's not really a good reason for me to use dAP for the time being: I have lost all sound in my left-channel, speakers and headphones. Kinda frustrating. Oh well. CD Player it is.

LOL!
How about you just hit the pause button in dAP instead of stop? it might just put it on hold and not start automatically for no good reason.

I hit pause and it just starts it when dMC starts converting. Oh, and I meant Stereo CD Player, not the Windows one.

I seem to have found the reason the audio goes to garbage when I use the CD drive. Apparently, if you get repeated CRC or IO errors in WinXP on your CD drive, Windows turns your drive to PIO mode to help you get the data correctly, albeit slower. Has this issue been resolved?
I have the same issue. As soon as I hit the rip button in Music Converter, the Audio player starts to play from my Music collection?
I do not know which versions I'm running or where to check. I downloaed yesterday so not used to the navigation yet.
Thanks

Did you read through this thread, PollieXmas?

If dAP is paused then it is unpaused when Ripping (incase you previewed the CD in CD Input).

I was also struggling with the problem where the player would stop playing in random mode, so I guess it was paused.
(I have since upgraded to the new beta and that problem is now sorted.)
I've only converted to dBpowerAmp yesterday, so still not used to when the player is paused or stopped, but I tried it now and if the player is stopped. It does not start to play automatically when you start to rip.
Thank you.
Paul
