I'm trying to convert some WAV files to WMA.
BTW, I should mention that I have Windows Media Player 7, but I already downloaded the v9 codecs off the Microsoft website, so I didn't need the beta codecs in step 1, so its the same stuff as v9.

Anyway, I tried installing both the 10.1 version of dMC (I had the old 8.something on my computer before, since I normally just use dMC for the file info in Windows Explorer), which went without a hitch, and then the WMA codec. (Yes, I did make sure to restart the computer.) If I try to convert to MP3, it works just fine.

But, when I try to do as much as select the option to convert to WMA, the program crashes and I get an "Invalid Page Fault" Windows error.

Tried the uninstall/remove registry keys and Program File directories/restart/reinstall, but that didn't work, I still get the same error.

If it helps any, here's the detail of the error message:

I believe, from the description given at the WMA section at Codec Central, that you do need the WMA v9 SYSTEM Codecs (emphasis mine). Either that, or the codecs you downloaded are not in the right spot. I would try downloading either WMA v. 9 or the WMA v9 System Codec.
Best wishes,
