Hello anybody on the post, my question is simple:
what's the matter if a mp3 file is converted from join stereo to stereo?, quality of sound is decreased?, ?

Hi,

Joint stereo is more efficient on bandwidth than dual mono (or real stereo).

In stereo, the left & right channels are kept apart from each other in the
MPEG data. In joint stereo, mono parts of the audio (surprisingly, quite a lot
in stereo audio) are just encoded once. It's comparable to the way stereo
FM radio is transmitted (a mono signal plus a difference signal, which are
combined in your radio to re-create left & right).

So, converting a file from Joint Stereo to Stereo (using the same bitrate)
will give a slightly worse audio quality because you are encoding parts of
the audio twice (the mono bits). Add to that the conversion from MP3 to
linear and from linear back to an MP3, which will also degrade the audio
quality.

Hope this helps.
