Problem converting ra files

The codec instructions where to use RealPlayer version 8 , but rp8-setup.exe is no longer available.

I downloaded Real Alternative 1.11, that is supposed to work also.
When converting ra file to mp3, dbpowerAMP writes forever (10 minutes for 1 mega file), till I finally cancel it.

Any advice?
