Hi

I recently bought a new DVD writer as a secondary drive - Pioneer dvr-215d.

I am having real problems trying to rip any cds however. Every cd i try to rip freezes during ripping of the first track. The only way to get out of the program is to End Task. All these cds rip fine on my other DVD drive. I use secure ripping with Accurate Rip but have also tried Burst Mode.

I have dbpoweramp v13 and Vista as my operating system.

Is this dvd writer supported within dbpoweramp and if so is there something else i could try to get it working?

Thanks Paul

It is likely a hardware fault, the cd drive should not freeze, how does the drive connect to the system? sata?

Hi Spoon
It is a SATA drive.
It appears to burn discs ok.
I've tried ripping using Windows Media player an that doesn't work either.

I guess it must be a hardware fault. Is it common for a drive to be able to burn ok but not to read discs properly?

Thanks Paul

If something is not working correctly there are many ways it can fail, you are best returning the drive.
