my problem is i can't launch that recorder icon, where you test the volume, input and set the number of tracks to be recorded, etc.

okay that works. thank you. Now when i click Record i get "Unknown Command Line: ' <Profile>AuxInput<UseLastSettings>'". But i don't know my last settings or what they're supposed to be set on. Maybe i have a version conflict. All I'm trying to restore is functionality of recording off vinyls to mp3
When I click programs here's the list---------------
kB powerampBatch Converter
dBpoweramp CD Ripper
dBpowerAMP Music Converter
dMC Audio CD Input
dMC File Selector
Register mp3 License & Power Pack
uninstall dMC

You have Aux Input and dMC r12 installed to the same directory, follow the directions Spoon posted to have dMC r11.5 and Aux Input installed to a different directory from dMC r12

I'm almost there. I can record from Line In, however the sound volume is low and muffled, even though my Test volume is set optimal, and when I record i get a normal Volume indicator. (I used to be able to record just fine, but my problems started when I downloaded v. 12.4 -- i've gone back to v 11.4 and that fixed most problems, but something is still tweaked). THANKS for all your previous help!

Uninstall all dMC, reboot, then install r11.5. dMC r12 and Aux Input are NOT compatible, as stated here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/legacy-compatibility.htm
