I just purchased this product today and the first time I tried to use it, I get this error:

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Documents and Settings\Lisa Wells\Desktop\sswg-070517.wav' to 'C:\Documents and Settings\Lisa Wells\Desktop\sswg-070517.mp3'
Error Cannot Create Wave Decoder (CCITT u-Law)? [clWaveDecoder::PrepareToDecodeAudio]

I'm trying to convert a WAV file to MP3. The WAV file was downloaded from freeconferencecall.com recording. They do not have any info on their website about codecs and I have no idea what I need to download in order to get this to work? Any suggestions?

The file might be corrupted, try playing it in Windows Media Player.

It plays fine. I can convert other files, just not the ones I download from freeconferencecall.com.

I'm also having the same problem, I tried 12.2 and 12.3 but both did not work. Do you know a solution for this ?

Thanks

I'm getting this error message:

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\11009877.wav' to 'C:\11009877.mp3'
Error Cannot Create Wave Decoder (CCITT u-Law)? [clWaveDecoder::PrepareToDecodeAudio]

The audio properties of the above wav file are:

Channel: 1 mono
Sample Rate: 8khz
Bit Rate : 64 kbps
Audio Quality: Low (Lossy)
Encoder Settings: CCITT u-law

From what I can see, the windows ACM decoder is not able to decode those files, WMP will use a built in ccitt codec, not ACM.

In XP open the sound recorder program and try opening the same file to play (I think XP sound recorder can do this, vistas cannot).

Yes the file opens and plays in XP sound recorder.

I need the solution to be able to directly convert the wav file to mp3 from dbpoweramp 12.2.

dbpoweramp 11.5 can make the conversion without the error
