I have a Creative Zen Plus, which is supposed to hold 2000 songs.
I have taken my CD library and created MP3 at 192 kbps
But I am no where near 2000 songs and I am close to maxing out the space on the Zen.
Curious -
1) Will I hear a difference between 192 and say something half that?
2) Should I have the dbPowerAmp set at "Normal", "Preset", "None" or "CD" quality ?
3) By having the mp3 at a smaller rate/size will that also allow the Zen's battery last longer?

The "2,000 songs" is based off of 64kbps WMA. To most people, this loss of quality is totally unacceptable. Most people are fine with about 128kbps mp3 or, for a little better sound, a 128kbps WMA. Going below these settings requires you to test to see if you can tell the difference between, say, 128bkps and 96kbps.
Also, use "None" as those choices over-ride the bandwidth selection.
I believe smaller songs will let the battery last longer, as it can cache more songs, but I can't say for sure.

Thanks so much.
I could not find a link on helpful tips on settings, etc - or did I overlook it?

I assume you mean a helpful link on bitrate settings. This is because these settings vary from person to person and vary depending on the equiptment used.

Understand.
Oh, is there a MP3 to WMA conversion/codec for DAP v 11.5?
I tend to like the look of this version and thus have not yet moved on to 12

Go to Legacy Codec Central via the link in the main Codec Central and download the WMA codec.
mp3 is included with dMC by default. Do note that you need a valid PowerPack trial or registered version to encode to mp3.
U can buy yourself some time by using VBR if currently yer using CBR.
Eventually, everybody run out of space, just have to adjust your listening habits.
