I tried to convert a small wav to mp3 and got this

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Documents and Settings\Bart Luyckx\My Documents\File.wav' to 'C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\File.mp3'
Lame Encoder: Error Converting from 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 8 Samples Per Second: 16000 Bytes Per Second: 32000 Block Align: 2 CB Size: 0' to 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 2 Bits per Sample: 8 Samples Per Second: 44100 Bytes Per Second: 88200 Block Align: 2 CB Size: 0'

what's happening?

I also had to turn off DEP for the configuration app.
Something to do with DEP?
if so, which app should I allow?

DEP hasn't been a problem with me, for the configuration program, ripping CDs, or just converting.

However, for your errors, it looks like you are converting to a higher-sample rate file. If you are NOT using Reference, try the latest dMC r12.1 beta linked to below.

'C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\File.mp3'

there is a double \\ in the name, how did that get there?

Sorry,

it's just where I removed my username for the post
me being not so smart, leaving it in the first part...

I solved it, i think, by setting the sample rate 'as source' and not using a high bitrate
I don't recall having this problem with the older versions, though.

I really had to disable dep for the config program.
I suppose that's something you want to look at for the next release.

anyway, thanks for the tip LtData

dMC r12.1 final is out, try using it and see if it fixes your problem.
