anyone know how to remedy this?

I believe that means your file association regarding .ico files is messed up. Try going to the dMC encoder file (default is C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder) and setting the file associations to the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer".

Thanks! This fixed it, was driving me nuts. I didn't think that they could be just simple .ico files existing separately.
