"Compilation" always greyed out

In r12 CD Ripper the "Compilation" box is always greyed out for me. I have installed the DMC free version and unticked the "30 day trials" for the codec pack and AMG (which I will not use). Any where I should look or specific options to tick / untick during install.

I have been through a cycle of complete registry clean and reinstall just in case.

I believe that Compilation support is a PowerPack feature, or as you called it the "codec pack", which might be because the PowerPack and mp3 encoder are sold together.
