MP4a won't play or convert

I have a bunch of MP4a's that do play and I just DL some more MP4a's and they don't play or won't convert to WAV or anything. The error dbpoweramp converter message says "file can not be opened". Anyone know what's wrong?

They are corrupted or they are encrypted for somebody else's use.
