So, I have a DVD burner and a CD burner, I'm running Windows XP, and I'm currently listening to a CD playing on my DVD drive with another program. So there's proof the drives are functional.

But when I try to select a drive from the Options screen, that little drop-down menu is blank. Neither of my drives show up. I've restarted, reinstalled the drivers, restarted, restarted, restarted, nada. So I did a full reinstall of dBpowerAmp like I've seen many people having to do on these forums. Uninstalled, removed the registry entries, restarted, reinstalled, and still the same problem.

...Anyone know what to do?

Are you running dMC as an administrator? Did you install dMC as an administrator? Did you try clicking the "Advanced" button and changing the CD Communication to "Windows Internal (Limited)"?

Well, I can see one drive, and that's the virtual one I have set up through Nero. I am the administrator, and the only communication option I have is ASPI.

What version of dMC are you running?

I just downloaded the newest one. 11.5.

I take it I have a new and unusual problem?

If you are running Windows XP then you should see an option for Windows (internal), unless you are running CD Input in a compatiblility mode.

Wow. What did that? I've installed it several times over and over again, and never set it to a compatibility mode. It was set to Windows 98 somehow. Apparently, over and over again.

Well, that fixed that then. So... thanks!
