Its been a little while since I have attempted this but it previously worked. I am getting the following error when attempting to convert my Audible file to an MP3

"The CODEC required to decompress 'C:\Program Files\Audible\Programs\Downloads\4thofJulyUnabridg ed.aa' could not be opened.
DirectShow filter for '.aa' not installed, or Audio File Corrupt."

I have installed DirectShow and made the propper configuration changes.
I even reinstalled all components.
Audible Manager is configured and plays the books through the Windows Media Player.

I am using the latest releases of all software.

Thanks.

I have performed some additional investigation on this problem and it seems to be with the latest version of the AudibleManager (5.0.0.5). Are there any plans to become compatible with this version?

On a seperate computer I install all the latest software as was able to reproduce my problem. I then uninstalled AudibleManager and installed verison 4.0. After this I was able to convert the files correctly.

Perhaps they are detecting various versions of software...

I can confirm that this is so. I had the newest version of Audible Manager (as of 5/27/2006, but I uninstalled it so don't have the exact version) and I couldn't convert. I didn't understand because conversion works on my old computer, with v. 5.0, all else set up exactly the same. Uninstalled the newest version and downloaded & installed 4.0 (found as the Win 98/ME version) (and actually you download their "Active Installer" which goes online and gets the rest) and I can convert again! Yay! BTW my new P4 3.2 GHz machine converts WAY faster than the P3-933 did!
