Now that I have discovered the awesome file selector, nirvana would be to rip/convert as one subfolders with multiple files. I would be happiest if the new, combined file could take the name of its folder with the appropriate codec identifying extension.
Is this a wish or something I could do if I knew how?

IIRC, dMC r12 will have this feature. Currently, you have to use another program such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net) to merge files.

Something to look forward to!
BTW, I understand the what dMC r12 means, but what is the IIRC that proceeds it?
Also, BTW, I have been using musiCutter to combine files, which, dispite it's name, merges as well as cuts. It's freeware, I believe GNU. Also, as oppossed to Audigy, it's lightweight and quick to learn.
