    Multiple folders

    When doing batch convert there are multiple complete albums that are broken into separate folders for each track. They are the same artists on all of them (not a compilation}

    Which naming string are you using? These tracks they have multiple artists on the same track?

    the dynamic naming string you are using in the conversion window (that tells how you want the files/subdirectories named/organized).

    does the album that gets split have an explicit ALBUM ARTIST filled in on the tag? (I'm guessing no). Anytime I have at least one track on an album where the artist is not exactly the same info as all the other tracks, I make sure I use an ALBUM ARTIST. This is true even if NOT a compilation.

    look at the tags of the files in one of the albums that got split (the original flac files). Is the Album Artist tag field blank? (right click on the files in windows explorer, select EDIT ID TAG, and you'll see all the tags in the file(s)

    that's because the mp3 files are already there. Just say NO typically. That is, I can convert flac files to mp3, then later I can point at ALL my flac files and say convert to the same mp3 location. It will ask me if I want to overrwite and I say NO. This way only the FLAC files that haven't yet been converted to mp3 will convert. I don't have to remember which FLAC files I've converted or not. It only does the new ones.

    what do you mean by automatic. Find the metadata automatically? Or do you mean to manipulate/edit tag data (often in an automatic batch manner). dbpa that you already have can do this by using batch converter to "convert to" ID TAG PROCESSING and do lot of things. I'm also fond of mp3tag (yes, it does FLAC too) for a powerful tag editing tool.

    i thought it did that automatically. When I convert it uses all my CPUs and I never had to set anything.
