    Id tag processing

Why doesn't id tag processing happen automatically? is it necessary to be separate?

    Re: Id tag processing

Are you talking about the DSP "ID Tag Processing"? If so, what should happen automatically in your eyes? When should it happen? And from what is it separated?

Yup should happen as soon the audio file is being converted so don't have to click on dsp effect but no biggie though

It can apply the ID tag processing during the conversion. But it is not clear what you are trying to do and what is not working for you. As Dat Ei asked, please clarify exactly what steps you are trying to perform with ID Tag Processing.

I don't get your point still. What should happen? And what should "ID Tag processing" automatically do?

The DSP "ID Tag processing" needs your input in form of parameters and / or instructions. Once you start the conversion process, the DSP will be proceeded within the conversion process.

I apologize i could be misunderstood about what id tag processing actually is
but thought it was used to get tags back from the original file

No problem at all. ID Tag processing is used to change or delete the tags that are in you're source files already. (Aside of that you can add tags, but those are hard coded and not dynamically retrieved from the Internet).

And when you are converting, all your existing tags should automatically move over to the converted file, assuming you settings are correct. For example, when I convert my FLAC files to mp3, all the tags automatically show up in my mp3 files.*

*note, there are some subtle differences related to multi-value tag fields, etc. But in general, most tags move over (artist, album, track, genre....)
