UPDATE
The "full" unistall worked great. Db CD Writer runs fine now--no glitches at all.
One note on my previous problem of 10 second files...uh, confession time, i turned on the "maximum length" feature but did not set it---so it was set at 10 second maximum length....so I set it for 80 mins and it works great.
