Update Tag with Filename

When I try and update a tag on an ape file from the filename, it works, but it does not use the APE2. I have selected APE2 as the default in the config for MMC. I've tried both checking and unchecking the preserve ID box and there is no difference. I can get it to update to APE2 by using the Update Tag option, but that makes it a two step process. I do not have this problem with mp3's which automatically updates to APE2 and ID3v1 in one step.

BTW, why is there no option for mp3's to update to APE2 and ID3v2.3?

Have you checked the ID tag options available when you run the dMC Configuration program?
