Does it say IEEE float codec, or ACM codec? It appears that your .wav is compressed.

i just installed from a disc the older version of dbpower amp 10 inhopes it would work with xp and now the message that appears is this CODEC required to compress (then it names the folder and song title) cant be opened. This is so frustrating I have used this program for a long time, since the shuffler days.

Click the wave compression option button, and select a wave type.
