They already dropped. You will find plenty of 20GB mp3 players for under $100 if you do a search....you could start at ebay, but search all the discount retailers as well.Originally Posted by neilthecellist

maybe i'm searching wrong, adaywayne. What search terms did you use? I simply typed in "mp3 cd player"
If you'll notice, he's referring to a portable HDD-based player. Also, the Dell Jubebox doesn't play ogg IIRC.Originally Posted by neilthecellist
oh.... well if it's an HDD player, and it's under 100 bucks, show me.
I typed <mp3 player> into eBay.Originally Posted by neilthecellist

OK...I forgot about the OGG, but one can't be too fussy for $100. Now, for ~$200 he could get a 20GB Rio Karma which does play OGG files. His original price limit was $150 so a litlle searching for a used one on eBay may come close.Originally Posted by LtData

That's my point. Players that support the Ogg Vorbis codec are SOOOOO friggin' expensive. I said earlier that I hoped that prices will drop by the time I turn 16.....so......
Just found this and thought you would be interested, neil. Building your own mp3/portable player. It can probably be adapted to also play ogg, but I don't know how. http://web.media.mit.edu/~ladyada/make/minty/index.htmlOriginally Posted by neilthecellist
