Install dbpoweramp music converter and the Real Audio decoder
plug-in from the "codec central" page.
Right-click the files you want to convert in Windows Explorer and
choose "convert to". Go for "MP3" and set the bitrate.
Couldn't be easier (??)
Good luck,
Daren.
I don't think you can convert Real Audio files to any other format. The codecs allow the encoding of other formats to Real Audio but that's about it.
No it isn't - see my reply to http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...=&threadid=530 .
this DBPowerAmp Convertor looks good, must give this a tryout

Hi, Encoder Fans and dbpoweramp Enthusiast
I read your discussion about doin .mp3 from .ram (rm+ra+....???).
For streaming sound Total Recorder from High Criteria is exelent to make Mp3 from ram. But when downloading the RealAudio-file for saving and perhaps playing in a portabel player there is no alternative to mp3.
So i have to convert all .ram-files to mp3.
After compession the mp3-file should also be the same size/quality.
The problem is to convert may 100 hours of radioprograms quickly.
dbpoweramp do it in realtime, as a lot of other programs, like a player/recorder (it works well in my old computer).
But what is needed is a decoder/encoder converting one hour in max 5 minutes.
There is at least one program doing this, e.g. WisecroftRipper, but it is not free.
Do anyone know other programs for "instant" conversion, free or not?
Most grateful
George
No, Wisecroft Ripper can't convert .ram files to MP3. Well, not the ones i got on my HD right now. I did convert some .rm files earlier on.Originally Posted by Unregistered
i need to do this too, and i can't figure it out. am i stuck with stupid *.ram?

I'm having problems with this too... I'm trying to convert a set of .ram files, but I'm running into bugs--- the decoder just keeps running and never completes, and i have to end the whole task to shut it down.
help, please?
thanks!

Hi ChristinaS!
I´m glad to hear from dbpowerAMP Staff.
Maybe you can tell me if dbpower makes a converter ".ram to .mp3",
but converting, in a hurry, wich means quicker than realtime.
I´m still searching for a decoder/encoder converter -
not a player/recorder, working in realtime (I already got TotalRecorder).
Reading FAQ is usually a waste of time.
To much text and not finding my answers.
To Stickler ;
*.ram is an audiofile, at least used for spoken radioprograms, but also music in low quality (high compression). Not to be mixed upp with text files and Notepad.
