I have a problem on the new 2023-5-15 Asset with some selection screen icons not resolving correctly.
Affected are Composer & New Albums, all others are correct

I have also found the same issue on my Naim Player since upgrading my Synology NAS (which is on the latest DSM version). Tried resetting Browse Tree to default, but didn't change the issue

I have the same issue with the same types of icon irregularities, so won't post pictures as they're largely the same. I have Naim streamers.

Looking at the Asset log file when displaying Titles, I extracted a few of the image paths for a few letters, and found the following when loading them directly via Firefox

          /aa/00002522/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be A)
          /aa/000025E6/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be B)
          /aa/000026AC/userart.jpg C
          /aa/00002774/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be D)
          /aa/0000283E/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be E)
          /aa//0000290A/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be F)
          /aa/000029D8/userart.jpg G
          /aa/00002AA8/userart.jpg H
          /aa/00002B7A/userart.jpg Corrupt (should be I)
          /aa/00002C4E/userart.jpg J
Strangely that doesn&*8217;t coincide with what gets displayed on the Player.

I&*8217;ve looked at the extracted package
The icons which are stored under the folder package.tgz/tarballs/common.tar.gz/AssetImages appears to be valid, and I cant even see the corrupt one icon that shows

I did also try a reinstall, but still see the corruption.

Also, on the NAS I navigated to /volume1/@appstore/Asset/bin/AssetImages and copy the icon files elsewhere to view. All png files were valid and correct.

I checked the icon files in the NAS folder
              /volume1/@appstore/Asset/bin/AssetImages/
And they are all valid icons, and no sign of the corrupted icon that appears

                Thanks for the bug report.

What NAS model are you using?

Has anyone else seen this bug running Asset on something else than Synology? Because Asset program itself is the same (same actual program binary) for plain Linux / Synology / QNAP, so if it's a bug in Asset it should be apparent on all of these not just Synology.

Does downgrading to old Asset R7.5 help?

(Trial version will act as registered if installed on top of registered)

Make sure to clear any caches of your iPhone/iPad app before testing, could still have local copies of malformed pictures.

I'm a Naim user also and see it, however I also see the issue when using VLC.

Just tried to roll back to the previous version and it won't let me.

                        Hi Peter

Yes reverting to R7.5 helps - all icons appear correct again (see attached)

Synology 1821+ user, I'm seeing the same, I also see it if I try and browse using VLC.

Can't downgrade to the old version of Asset as it won't allow a roll back to 7.5.

                          @Gorby Did you uninstall and re-install ?

Well, this is embarassing, SOMEHOW Apple ._ files from development Mac made it to the SPK.

This wasn't happening before, and my scripts didn't change. This bug happens even if I rebuild old versions from source, so it's introduced when packing SPK on my machine, not by some changes in my code. I'm still investigating the exact cause and a fixed build will be out shortly.

                              In meanwhile:
                              sudo rm -f /volume1/@appstore/Asset/bin/AssetImages/._*.png
... will clean this up; restart Asset after.
