Please place these both in TuneFUSION folder, run problematic scenario again.
This will create files named DBDebug-***.txt in your Document folder, where *** is a number; one file per each conversion task.

In the meantime, I looked in the directory referenced toward the end of one of these DBDebug-***.txt files, pasted here:

Yes, it looks like a fault in our temp file management. I recommend deleting these files in temp.

- Hold shift pressing [menu] to see a toggle for writing debug logs in Documents. Default: off, intentionally reset on app restart.
- Attempted fix assuming it's a temp file ops fault.
- More logging: "Encoder created a blank file for source" will say WHAT file it's looking at, sounds like temp files clashed.

I deleted all .mp3 files in the temp directory. In doing so, I noticed that ~30 of the 4710 files had names of "_tf****.tmp.mp3.tmp.mp3", as if the extension was appended twice while naming. I thought that this might be a clue. Another odd file had the name "_TFD57~1.MP3" (caps sensitive).

Then I followed your new build instructions.

I'm sorry to say that I still can't find the cause - one part of our program reports having successfully written the file, then the other part sees a null file (using same method to check it).

I apologize in advance for somewhat hijacking my own thread here, but I have another partially related issue:

Before you started troubleshooting my 0 KB problem, I tried to solve it by installing TuneFUSION on my 2022 Mac Studio and running it from there with the same settings. Otherwise, this is the same setup where I'm syncing from and to the same NAS. I'm running Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1 and TuneFUSION 1.7.

Here, I encountered a different issue where the log file displays this error for each audio file:

Error: Error opening file '/Volumes/Audiobooks/Ganapes, John/Blues You Can Use [CD]/1-3-Blues Rock Tune.flac' check no other program has it open.Operation timed out (errno:60) [Open] for source file: /Volumes/Audiobooks/Ganapes, John/Blues You Can Use [CD]/1-3-Blues Rock Tune.flac

The result is that no files are synced. Any idea what could be limiting access to these files?

Thanks PeterP. I downloaded the latest Mac beta and ran the profile again.

One strange thing is that the profile window showed "Indexing: * tracks found", where * rose to >35,000. I only have 107 music files in this NAS source share, and perhaps a dozen .txt files with ripping info. It seemed like maybe it was scanning outside of the source directory (i.e. other NAS shares?).

The good news is that the file operations timeout error is gone, and all 107 files synced correctly.

New info: This long indexing step seems to only occur during the first sync. Subsequent syncs where nothing has changed complete in under 1 min.
