Dark Side of the Moon clips/distorts when ripping

    Hi All

When I try ripping this CD, playing it back clips/distorts at the 'plane crash' and the alarm clocks.

I'm guessing that I should add the DSP peak-to-peak volume normalize with the bit change to floating before and back to 16 bit (with dither) after.

Is this a correct thing to do?

    Thanks

Rip to Wave with no DSPs, then play on the same computer, does it clip?

Interesting. It didn't clip when I ripped it to Wave. As a test I re-ripped it as FLAC (no DSP) and it didn't clip for that either. The rip that was distorting is a few years old (just lived with it until now) so maybe the older machine was the culprit.

I have one other CD that clips so I'll re-rip it to see if this is a non-issue and report back.

      Thanks for your suggestion.

Update: It looks like the error was caused by the other PC when it did the encoding. I've got a lot of re-ripping in my future

      Thanks Spoon!!
