Not all folders detected by library scan

    Hello.

Running Asset 7.3 DSM7 on Synology DS116. Some folders, cca 1/5 of them, are not detected after scan. Files are organized as, e.g.: \\diskstation\music\Boz Scaggs\2001 Dig\01. Payday.flac. All necessary permisions in DSM granted. Synology's own Media server finds all music correctly. All metadata triplechecked. Library log file states that the undetected folder is empty (status 13). There is no visible differences, errors, in detected/undetected folders. I don't get it, tried everything I can think off. Multiple scans, varying metadata, played with settings...
I like the sw and I would like to buy it.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

You need to set it up you Browse Tree for Folder and Filename browsing which is not set up by Asset in the default browse tree
    Go to:
Asset UPnP Configuration >> Edit Advanced Settings >> Browse Tree, then from here you can select And personalise your own preferences.

      Thanks Mike for replying.

I did that, cleared database and rescaned, but result is still the same.
Missed folders are structured the same way like others, same MP3Tag editing sw, same metadata fields populated.

      Any other ideas?

        No other ideas, sorry
I suspect it must something in your set up as Folder view just reads your folder tree in the Synology Music share.

My Synology DSM7 shows Folders no problem
This is my Browse Tree 'plain text', try copy/paste that to see if it solves the problem.

I'll try that, but I don't think it is the tree config problem. Some folders and its subfolders for whatever reason are invisible to the scaner.

Mike-B, I've loaded your Browse Tree, no change.
Just to mention that I've had previously DSM6 with Asset Free (v6-something) and some folders in music root folder were missing even then.
Upgraded to DSM7 and now installed new Asset, and this is happening.
Maybe there are some leftovers from previous installation that is causing problems? I did uninstalled the previous Asset version, ofcourse.
Audio Station finds and plays everything correctly as it should.
I don't see any logic in this.

OK it was just an off chance to try my browse tree as that does not have this problem, not that I use Folder View browsing, it just handy to have all albums in alphabetical order irrespective of various artists, album artist or album title.

I'm still convinced it must be something in your Synology Music share configuration, I don't know what as I've never had this problem.
We need to wait until Spoon or Peter see this thread.

Enable the debug log, then do a full rescan, have a look in the log as to what is happening.

                  Hi Spoon!

                  Thanks for answering.

As I have mentioned in first post, I already did that.

                    Thanks for the details.

"status: 13" implies EACCESS / "Permission denied". For some reason Asset isn't being granted relevant permissions by the system in individual subfolders, only allowed to list the root music folder.

Please remove all Asset permissions, apply, then re-create them per Asset on Synology guide section 2.

                      No luck.

Removed (with apply), re-created all permissions. Twice, restarted Asset, restarted Diskstation.
                      Missing folders still missing.

                        Solved.

                        Yes, it was permissions issue.
"Convert to Windows ACL" for entire music folder in DSM did the trick.

                        Many thanks!
