Configuring AccurateRip on M1 MacBook Air using an external Apple SuperDrive

I have been using an external Apple SuperDrive with my Intel MacMini & Intel MacBookPro (Both as MacOS & Windows bootcamp). All works perfectly. AccurateRip automatically configures itself.

dBpoweramp CD Ripper recognises the Superdrive as a 'HL-DT-ST DVDRW GX30N' automatically during setup. With an offset of +6.

I just bought an Apple M1 MackBook Air. Plugged the SuperDrive in, same as previous Macs. dBpoweramp CD Ripper doesn't see the drive. It tells me to setup AccurateRip manually. The drive: Apple - Superdrive is not present in the Accurate database. and to specify the drive offset manually.

It doesn't recognise the actual drive make and model, just as a generic Apple SuperDrive.

Anyone else come across this?

Later versions of OSX hide the drive name.

My Intel MacBook Pro, Intel MacMini & Apple Silicon M1 MacBook Air are all running the same version of MacOS. MacOS Monterey 12.2

Under "About This MAC", "System Information", "Disc Burning".

Intel Models show:- Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
Apple Silicon Models show:- Burn Support: Yes (Generic Drive Support)

It seems Apple no longer support their own hardware with specific USB drivers. Having switched to generic drivers for Apple SuperDrives on Apple Silicon models.

Hopefully there is no discernible difference between the two. As in ripping speed, data quality, and error correction.
