    Dbpoweramp won't start ripping

I'm running the latest version of DbPoweramp. When I put in any CD it finds the metadata and artwork but won't start the ripping process. I've tried several cd's which I've ripped in the past. All the settings, including the pathway, are what I've used in the past. This started when I downloaded the latest version. What is happening?

Set the ripping mode to 'Burst' and set the encoder to 'Test Conversion'

    does the ripping work?

        Re: Dbpoweramp won't start ripping

When ripping fails to start and I cancel it I get a message on the screen that says "audio file passed verification" from dBpoweramp.

I set it to test conversion and burst but no joy. It still won't rip.

Which anti virus software is running?

ESET, which I installed a month ago. Hmm...

As a test start Windows in safemode and the anti virus will not be running:

                    Re: Dbpoweramp won't start ripping

Turned off ESET and the firewall and nothing. Repeated and one disc ripped but while ripping nothing showed on the track bar as a % of ripping--it stayed at 0%. Turned ESET and the firewall back on and a second disc failed. Tried again and it ripped, again with nothing indicated on the track ripping bar. Has the UI changed with the new version?
At this point we think there is a software problem with dBpoweramp or the CD drive itself.

Try a different ripping program, such as Exact Audio Copy as a test.

                        Re: Dbpoweramp won't start ripping

Last night I deleted and re entered the pathway and it ripped one CD but only one. To do more I had to repeat the process for each cd. I had this problem before I updated to the new dBpoweramp version. I'm thinking it may be the drive itself.
