Perfect tunes comes up with 'contains no ID tags' on synology NAS

I have ripped a large amount of music onto a Synology NAS, but when i go in via either windows explorer right click 'dBpoweramp ID tag edit' or perfect tunes all the fields are empty and the above message appears.
I assume the data is there as it is used by Asset and the synology audio program. Note - when I rip CDs i rip to a local drive (where I can 'see' the ID tags) and then upload to the NAS the folders/files.
Any thoughts please on how to get past this.
    Many thanks

Try copying one file to your local computer and look at the tags when it is there.

It could be a read permission error.
