    Use Multi-Encoder or Convert later?

Greetings, once again, dbpoweramp gods, I beseech thee.

I am going to convert my 500+ cd collection to FLAC and MP3. Is it most efficient to rip to both file types at once using the Multi-Encoder, or to rip as FLAC and convert all files to MP3, later?

    Thanks,
    Syd

I prefer separate steps. After ripping to FLAC then playing around a bit, I ALWAYS find metadata things I need to change or correct. A later conversion can be done in bulk and takes a couple of mouse clicks. And these days I don’t even maintain a lossy library. I use TuneFusion to create lossy versions on the fly for my iThings.

Thanks Gary. I assume PerfectTunes ID Tags is the best way to update metadata that is already ripped?

        Yes. Good for that.
