    Music Converter vs TuneFUSION ReplayGain

Music Converter R17.4 and TuneFUSION R1.5 are producing different ReplayGain values for the same flac album, converted to mp3: The Simon and Garfunkel Collection, which has pre_emphasis.

I notice that Music Converter and TuneFUSION are using different versions of the ReplayGain.dll.

So, my question is which one is more reliable?

What are the track gain values? are the peaks the same?

    Other albums have matching values?

EAC ripped the album, so you converted FLAC >> FLAC with replaygain DSP effect and de-emphasis? Or never applied de-emphasis in dbpoweramp?

IIRC it was ripped as is, no de-emphasis and I didn't bother re-ripping with CD Ripper, as the original rip was an accuraterip.

I simply applied the ReplayGain Utility Codec.

What DSP effects do you have running for TuneFUSION? in what order and their exact settings please.

Note if TF is set to do a 1:1 copy then the DSP effect is not run, I have added replaygain into TF, removed the old RG tags then ran it and the correct RG value was calculated.

I am trying to sync my flac library to mp3:

                  ID Tag Processing DSP:
Deletions > Single tags: Encoded by, Encoder, Encoded Settings
Manipulation > Album Art > Import From: cover.jpg, Maximum Pixel Size: 600x600pixels, Maximum File Size: 59.99 KB (not working)
Manipulation > Word / Character Replacement
                  Manipulation > Rule Based Manipulation
                  Additions > Library: mp3

                  ReplayGain DSP:
Write: Track, Album Gain & iTunes Album Normalization
Advanced Options > Album ID: All Files in Same Folder, Gain Calc.: EBU R128, LUFS: -18, Max. Gain: 25dB, Clip: unchecked

and if you use batch converter 17.4 and the replaygain utility codec, you get correct or incorrect RG values?

Using your exact settings (in TuneFusion) with track 1 I get +3.7db and 0.374084 same as the Music Converter.

Try uninstalling it, full reboot and reinstall.

I'm unsure why my TuneFUSION R1.5 installation was/is playing up, but here's what I've now done.

                          1. Uninstalled EVERYTHING Illustrate related and rebooted Windows 10 PC into Safe Mode.

                          2. Installed dBpoweramp Reference R17.4 and TuneFUSION R1.5 and rebooted into Safe Mode.

                          3. Placed two accuraterip flac albums, one with pre-emphasis and one without, into a test folder and REMOVED the ReplayGain tags from both albums.

                          4. Converted the flac albums to mp3 using Batch Converter and the ReplayGain DSP only (Track, Album Gain & iTunes Album Normalization), then checked the RG and iTunes tags and all appears OK.

                          5. Converted the flac albums to mp3 using TuneFUSION and the ReplayGain DSP only (Track, Album Gain & iTunes Album Normalization), then checked the RG and iTunes tags and none of these tags are being written.

I would appreciate some help here.

As a test, use one of the dsp effects in tunefusion, such as maximum length set to 30 seconds, does that work?

Maximum Length DSP (10 seconds) works fine.
