    Ripping Error

Long time user of dBpoweramp, almost never having an issue ripping.
I'm trying to rip a CD my friend recorded to CD.
Files play OK and are in this naming format - Track01.cda
I get the same error message for all 7 songs.

Error writing audio data to StdIn Pipe [clEncoder::EncodeBlock]

Can anyone help me out with this one?
    Thanks, Bill

It is possible the disc is not an audio CD, if you run CD Ripper it should list the tracks, does it?

      Re: Ripping Error

Yes CD Ripper lists all 7 tracks.

Just tried ripping the files to flac and it worked.
Then tried converting flac file to mp3, failed with same message:

      Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\Bill\Desktop\Rips\Live (ALMOST)\Jonny C\LIVE (ALMOST)\Track01.flac' to 'C:\Users\Bill\Desktop\Rips\Live (ALMOST)\Jonny C\LIVE (ALMOST)\Track01.mp3'

It is likely something on your system is stopping the mp3 encoder from working, perhaps security software. Try starting the system in safe mode (with networking) and see if the conversion works:

          Re: Ripping Error

I was able to rip the CD after booting into safe mode. So, it seems it's something else on my PC is causing the error. The trouble shooting continues.
          Thanks Spoon
