Use custom tag to sort album view

    Hi,

I have assigned a custom tag "catalogID" to each of my albums.

How can I use the "catalogID" - tag to define in the asset browsing tree
a view that displays all albums sorted by "catalogID".
I have already added the "catalogID" database field
but I need to know how I can use it to sort the albums

    Any suggestions?

    Regards
    Volkmar

You would add it into the tree, as a test add it in the root of the tree:

    catalogID

and it should list the catalogs before showing a list of tracks to correspond with that catalog. If that works you can add [album] as the parent of or into it.

Re: Use custom tag to sort album view

    I have added

    catalogID{_no_track_list_}
    catalogID\album

    to the browsing tree

This delivers a list of IDs and when I click on the ID it shows the album

But how can I achieve that "all albums" are shown but sorted by "catalogID"?

    PS:
Is there additional documentation on browse tree customization available?
    https://www.dbpoweramp.com/asset-upnp-linuxmanual.htm is not really detailed

You have two tags (album and catid) and you want them to both do one thing. If you want the albums sorted by the id, but the id not shown, then you need the catalogid tag moving to the 'Album Sort' tag. If you want it visible then you need the actual album name in the catalogid tag also.

The 'Album Sort' tag surprises me because it is not listed in the available database fields.
What other "Sort" tags are available?
    Where are they documented?

Are your files tagged with any sort tags?

I have added "Album Sort" Tag and populated it with values from "catalogid" tag
But I still don't understand how to use the "Album Sort" Tag
The lack of documentation makes it really hard to move forward

If you tell Asset to rescan (refresh all) the album sort tag will be automatically read and the albums from that point should be sorted based on it.

    Thanks!!
    That worked.

Is it possible to create a tree item that descends to a specific playlist automatically?

All of the sort tags (artist, AlbumArtist, album, title, composer) are used as the basis to sort, but the regular tags are what are displayed. Helpful to keep not only artists with last name, first name etc.

    I have tried
    myfavorites**Dynamic Browsing&+&Playlists&+&myfavorites
BubbleUpnP says "Browse Error Reason: Internal Error"

Same error with the example given in the documentation
    1980s Pop**Dynamic Browsing&+&Genre&+&Pop&+&Year&+& 1980s[TOROOT]
