    Sort Albums by Recording Label?

    Dear Forum Experts!

I apologize if my beginner's question was answered earlier - but even after some searching in the forum I could not find a suitable solution so far:

I am running Asset UPnP Version: R7.2 [Linux-x64]; Functionality: Premium Registered on a Synology DS720+ with DSM 7.
My player is a naim ND5 XS 2, iOS naim app.
My audio data are mostly FLAC and ALAC files, my CDs were ripped with dBpoweramp CD Ripper, downloaded High-Res files were edited with perfectTUNES (ID Tags), I entered the recording Label in the corresponding "Label" field.

I'd like to add a menu item to sort Albums by the Recording Label and could not figure out how to do this. Probably I would have to edit the Browse Tree as plain text and add something there - or wohld have to do something else...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    See:

These are instructions for the Windows version. For Linux/Mac/QNAP, see below. Asset has the ability to display custom ID Tags (non-standard), with a little configuring. For example your FLAC library contains a unique tag of 'MOOD', you can add this to asset by: Start >> Run >> Regedit: Browse to:

      Hi Spoon,

thanks a lot for your support!

I must have overlooked the fact that instructions for Synology are also listed further down that page...
I'll try this out at the weekend and give feedback afterwards!

Re: Sort Albums by Recording Label?

        Does not work:

        After adding
        Label,0,NVARCHAR(150)
after the last line in "Database Fields" Asset is rescanning the Folders.
I can see interim progress in steps by 500 - after the scan completed it shows an empty Library with 0 Tracks, 0 Albums.

        Instead of "Label" I entered
        mood,0,NVARCHAR(150)
exactly like presented in the linked example:

Same result, rescanning with progress being displayed in steps of 500, finally empty Library.

This happens regardless if I make additional changes in "Edit Browse Tree as plain text" or not.
Do you have an idea what might have gone wrong?

Sorry the details were old, not the current database, I have updated.

            Thanks again!

            Label
inserted as last line in "Database Fields"
            and
            Label\root
            Label\{_a_to_z_}{_no_track_list_}
inserted in "Edit Browse Tree as plain text"
gave me the results I was looking for!
