How come my 24-bit CD's get ripped to 16-bit

    Hi Folks,

I hope someone knows why when I rip a 24-bit CD it always
    Rips as 16-bit and 44.1K?
I Specified source as the option for ripping so it should
be getting the attributes from the source file.
    Any one have any ideas???

    Thanks!

All audio CDs are 16-bit. Which CD do you have that you believe is 24-bit?

Hi, Thanks, I have a few that are 24-bit.

      Blondie: Parallel Lines 24/192kHz

      Billy Joel: Glass Houses 24/96kHz

SANTANA (III) 30th Anniversary Expanded Edition 24/96kHz

Unless the record companies are lying they should be what is listed above.
      Thanks!

Are these releases SACDs and/or 24-bit remastered?

All Audio CDs are 16 bit, even if it says on the front '24 bit remastered', the only 24 bit CDs are SACD which will only rip the cd layer 16 bit, unless you have a special hacked PS3 which can read the SACD layer.

          HDCDs are also 20 bit.
