If a CD rips, and it reports inaccurate what is really the point that it either does or does not match another rip if it sounds great and there are no audible issues?

It means it differs from the original because of an error. That error might be one sample out, it could be 1000 samples, the former might not be audible, the latter could be. Many drives interpolate when there is an error, so the error you listen for is silence.
