    Sorry if I muddied the waters, I said I used CCleaner every time I shut down my XPS 17 and also said it had no adverse affect at all but each device seems to work differently somehow. My dbpoweramp settings are not changed by CCleaner.

    I don't know much about it but possibly the McAfee security software that came with the HP Envy PC includes some sort of Registry cleanup. dB \poweramp worked great on our old PC which had Norton security software.
    My McAfee internet security/anti-virus programme doesn't automatically run its Tracker Remover programme, can't see a Registry cleaner in McAfee.
