Can not edit ID-Tag with registered versionq

    Hello,

I just purchased dBpoweramp version 17.3 (64-bit). After installing the registered version I lost the ability to edit ID-Tags, and receive the following error:

dBpoweramp Reference Required for ID-Tag Editing

I've searched online and everything that I find is years old. Do I need to purchase something else, or modify something in order to unlock this feature?

    Cheers,

    Victor

No, you still have the trial version installed. Uninstall dBpoweramp, reboot Windows and check there is no right click >> Edit ID Tags option, this would indicate that it is gone.

    Then install the registered download.

Re: Can not edit ID-Tag with registered versionq

      Hi Spoon,
I am still on the trial version 17.3 (Win7 - 64bit). I open dBpoweramp as administrator from my user account. Everything works fine, but when I am logged in as standard user, I can't edit ID tags with right-click.
The error message is the same as mentioned above "dBpoweramp Reference Required for ID-Tag Editing".
I have changed the security settings for [GetPopupInfo.exe] to allow full control for users on my computer, but it won't work.
Will the registered version allow me to use ID-Tag editing without logging in as administrator?
      Please advise.
      Thank you and best regards
      Bernd

        Hey Bernd,

I'm not Spoon but an ordinary user of dBpa. Yes, you can edit the ID Tags of audio files without being admin, as long as you have the needed privileges to edit the files, and you have no security software which might prevent you from a working dBpa installation.

          Hi Dat Ei,
Thank you for the prompt reply
But I am wondering why I this shouldn't then also work with the trial version.
          Thank you and best regards
          Bernd

            Hey Bernd,

it's a long time ago that I've used the trial version. Maybe this is a limitation of the trial, but I can asure you that you don't need admin right in the RReference verison to edit the tags.

The trial can only activate once, if in your administrator account it will be used there.

                Thank you Spoon,

                That is good to know.

Does that mean I have to install into my user account instead?
Then, with my user account, I would be able to edit ID-tags?
But I won't be able to edit ID-tags from my administrator account?
                Is my interpretation correct?

                Thx Bernd

You can try, but the install elevates to install, so is the administrator account. The registered version does not have this restriction.

Re: Can not edit ID-Tag with registered versionq

Well, the question is still the same:
Where do I install dBpoweramp if I want to access edit ID-tag from my user account?
Are there any restriction on the trial version?
If so, can I access this functionality, once I register the program?
If not, I am stuck since I don't like to use my administrator account when linked to the internet.
                    Thx Bernd

Yes, as Spoon and I have said.
