Asset UPNP cant play music

I have recently installed Asset UPNP on a QNAP TS412. The scan is complete and the index built, but I cannot play music from any of my devices including Windows and MOON ACE. How do I work out what is wrong?

You are able to browse correctly? what format is your music?

Response varies. Sometimes On the MOON ACE, I can see the UPnP Media server but it does not connect. On Windows 10, I can see the Asset UPnP in the network and open Windows Media Player, but it fails to connect to the remote library. Other times I can connect and see the song library in both MOON ACE and Windows, and browse it, but music doesn't play when a song is selected.

The music is in a mixture of MP3 and FLAC.

The qnap would come with a default upnp renderer, does that work?

I have now tried other upnp renderers and although I can see them on Windows 10, I cannot connect to browse the contents. I guess this suggests a network or firewall issue. How can I check this?
