Thread: Unable to convert any files to AAC using the itunes/QAAC encoder

Re: Unable to convert any files to AAC using the itunes/QAAC encoder

I had the same errors in R2023.11.1 version with QAAC Release-2 codec. Both were 32-bit installation.

Replaced to 64-bit R2023.11.1 and downloaded 64-bit QAAC from https://github.com/nu774/qaac/releases/tag/v2.80 (latest while writing) and replaced the included 4 files with the one bundled with QAAC Release-2 codec that present in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a QAAC (iTunes)

Now encoding works for both QAAC (64bit) and Nero AAC (32bit)

Having the same problem. How do I install the new encoder so that Music Converter recognizes it? I downloaded v2.81 zip file (released 1/21/24) from https://github.com/nu774/qaac/releases/tag/2.81. I copied the 4 unzipped files (2 exe and 2 dll) into the C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\encoder but no luck.

Remove those files from that folder and put in:

    C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a QAAC (iTunes)

download the latest qaac and you can find the apple codec without itunes on the Internet and just replace the files in the program, see where qaac was installed and change it to the newer one. Look in the program files of the dbpoweramp program and find the encoder folder, there are encoders, you can try to upload the extracted AAC codec from ITUNES and see if it will work. You can try other codecs from rarwares, they are always up to date.Spoon or not, it was better if the codecs were separate because with each update you have to release a new version of the program.try foobar

As mentioned the encoder is separate it is in

    C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a QAAC (iTunes)

and can be replaced by which ever version you wish.
