If you cancel a ripping session when it's not done yet, could that corrupt the file

For example, if you ripped something in burst mode, and it came out as inaccurate, and you started re-ripping it in secure mode, but decided that the track is not important enough to spend that time to re-rip it, and cancel the ripping session, could that result in a worse sounding rip than the initial burst rip?

yes. Why not let it try to rip with secure no matter what. You're only ripping the CDs once. Might as well do it right. You can do other things while ripping. Rip right, rip once!!!
