    Couldn't convert aifc to wav

Tried and failed to convert aifc files - got error message:

    Error converting to Wave, 'Q:\Jupiter 1.aifc' to 'Q:\Jupiter 1.wav'
Error - file has compressed audio (not supported). [clWaveDecoder_AIFF::PrepareToDecodeAudio]

Used Adobe Audition in the end so the file wasn't corrupted.
    I was using 16.6 - is this a version problem ?

    Thanks

If I read the message the right way, your files contais compressed audio, which is not supported.

I hadn't read the codec page properly:

    dBpoweramp AIFF Codec

AIFF is an audio format typically used on Apple computers, there are two types of AIFF files: AIFF linear (uncompressed) & AIFC (compressed), AIFF uncompressed is the most common. AIFF files created with this codec contain linear audio, making this a lossless codec. This codec cannot decode or encode AIFC files.

Wonder if that will always be the case ?

Will decoding from aifc ever be supported ?

These files are very rare, so the implementation of aifc support (aifc is like compressed wave, it is not just 1 format but perhaps 40).
