Ref 17.1 unable to rip cds

I am having problems ripping cds with Ref 17.1, so some reason when I click on rip, it just says ripping but my drive does not seem to have any activity.

Have uninstalled the program and reinstalled Ref 16.5 which works except it does not retrieve tags, so I have to manually type in the titles myself.

    Please help.

Set the ripping mode to Burst, and the encoder to 'Test Conversion', does that work?

Test conversion works, but the rest of the codecs does not.

Perhaps it is the output location where the files are to be saved is not correct. Try setting to a folder on your local computer.

If it is not that, restart the computer in 'Safe mode with networking' this ensures there is no security software which can stop CD Ripper.

            Try:

Microsoft have updated Windows Defender to include an option called "Controlled folder access" this basically limits every program from accessing key areas of the system unless permitted on an individual program basis. By default this option is off for Windows, however if it is enabled you should add the programs

Windows Defender is not in use.

Even with my security software turned off, it still doesn't work

I am using the multi-encoder. Tried the individual encoders, ogg vorbis, wavpack, flac and musepac sepearately, same problem.

Sorry, no suggestions here, other than uninstall and start over. But I just wanted to report that I'm running 17.1 on two different Windows 10 PCs and not seeing any of these issues. My AV software is Trend Micro Security and I'm running the built in Windows firewall. Something (maybe even simple) seems very wrong on either the install itself or some other software running on your PC. Note that some AV programs that cause problems, still cause problems when turned OFF, and actually have to be uninstalled to actually test without such AV software.

Uninstall the security software, it looks like something is halting dBpoweramps ability to write files.
