    Just album, you would not put the year in the album, as that is for your player to add.

        Your choice, the files all decode identically for any flac compression level.

          neither. just ALBUM. but my server/player also reports the year from the YEAR tag.

            In my personal opinion, this option is silly. But at least those that believe WAV files sound better than FLAC (of course they never do this in a real double blind test) can use FLAC and get the benefit of better tagging and the built-in CRC in a FLAC file that allows easy testing for corruption. But still a silly option in my opinion..

                there is no best option. any FLAC compression is perfectly OK. I'd use either 8 or 5.
