Library Scanning Issue Post Upgrade to Version 7

    RPi Version

I have just upgraded from version 6.6 to version 7 on my RPi. The install went reasonably well albeit with a few issues...

    - crontab file not auto updated to remove v6.6 instance (done manually)
    - the previous version has not been deleted, not sure if this was suppose to happen auto or not, anyway left for now

So version 7 boots OK and I have edited both the browse tree and the database fields to be same as v6.6

I asked Asset to clear database and rescan all folders which it starts and I can see the count going up. However, when I return later it says 0 tracks, 0 albums

Tried twice same result (with reboots etc). The Library Logs point to some sort of SQL error; here is a short extract:

    [14:00:56] Starting database op
    [14:00:56] Entering StorePendingAlbumArt()
    [14:00:56] Leaving StorePendingAlbumArt()
    [14:00:56] Entering StorePendingTags
    [14:00:56] Adding New Track: /mnt/MusicNAS-CD/CD6/Billy Ocean/Greatest Hits/09 - Billy Ocean - Here's to You.wav
[14:00:56] SQL error message: no such table: uMediaTable

    [14:00:56] Adding New Track: /mnt/MusicNAS-CD/CD6/Billy Ocean/Greatest Hits/05 - Billy Ocean - Loverboy.wav
[14:00:56] SQL error message: no such table: uMediaTable
    [14:00:56] SQL problem command: REPLACE INTO uMediaTable VALUES(null,'-1149142225132714823','130919163470000000',0,'/mnt/MusicNAS-CD/CD6/Billy Ocean/Greatest Hits/05 - Billy Ocean - Loverboy.wav','141139162270115','53445626422170','-3384875436213304930','Loverboy','','','','','1989' ,'5/13','','1/1','','','','','','','','','','16','2','44100','14 11200','251773','44447042','WAV','');

Prior to this message the logs seem to indicate what looks like normal activity. The SQL errors continue intermittently throughout the scanning process.

Any thoughts on what's gone wrong and how to fix please?

    Thx

First step you have to remove R6.6 from the cron tab, and restart the device, you cannot have R6 and R7 both running at the same time. Then try a rescan (refresh all)

Also the database fields file has changed in format, you have edited it also?

I have commented out R6.6 in the crontab file so that's not running just R7.

I have edited (via copy and paste) the database fields from R6.6 into R7....this is what it looks like

    title,0,NVARCHAR(150)
    t_artist,3,INTEGER
    t_album artist,3,INTEGER
    t_album,0,INTEGER
    t_genre,3,INTEGER
    year,0,INTEGER
    track,0,NVARCHAR(10)
    rating,0,INTEGER
    disc,0,NVARCHAR(10)
    t_composer,3,INTEGER
    t_conductor,0,INTEGER
    t_soloists,3,INTEGER
    t_orchestra,0,INTEGER
    t_chorus,0,INTEGER
    t_instrument,3,INTEGER
    t_period,0,INTEGER
    compilation,0,INTEGER
    t_style,3,INTEGER
    bits,0,INTEGER
    channels,0,INTEGER
    frequency,0,INTEGER
    bitrate,0,INTEGER
    lengthms,0,INTEGER
    size,0,INTEGER
    type,0,NVARCHAR(20)
    Mood,0,NVARCHAR(50)

That is why it does not work, R7 is a different design, here is the default:

    artist
    album artist
    album
    genre
    composer
    conductor
    title,TEXT
    year,INTEGER
    track,TEXT
    disc,TEXT
    type,TEXT
    rating,INTEGER
    compilation,INTEGER
    bits,INTEGER
    channels,INTEGER
    frequency,INTEGER
    bitrate,INTEGER
    lengthms,INTEGER
    size,INTEGER
    work
    movement name,TEXT
    movement number,INTEGER
    Favourites,TEXT

Thanks Spoon.....that seems to have fixed it.

The browsing experience isn't quite right though, I use the tag "Style" to be able to differentiate different audio formats (e.g. WAV/DSD etc) and it doesn't seem to be working as it did before on R6.6. Not exactly sure why but did notice there is no "Style" reference in the R7 database fields and yet there was one in the R6.6 (t_style,3,INTEGER)?

Tried adding "Style,TEXT" to the database fields and whilst it's done something it's still not working correctly. Any thoughts? Thanks

You would have to trigger a full rescan (refresh all) and add style to the browse tree.

Re: Library Scanning Issue Post Upgrade to Version 7

I have Style already in the browse tree and have added "Style,TEXT" to the databasefields and done a complete refresh of the library but still not right. I've attached two pics of how it looks on my control app. The first is how it should be and is pre R7 and the second is how it looks on R7......you can multiple entries for the same Style tag e.g. DSD

    IMG_0230.jpg

Can't work out why I get all the multiple entries?

What happens if you look in each instance, there is a pattern of what is showing in each?

Re: Library Scanning Issue Post Upgrade to Version 7

    Hi Spoon

There's no obvious pattern that I can see. I have two instances of Asset running on two different platforms at the moment so am using them as comparisons. The one that works as required is an old version (5.1) running on XP. So when I browse into "Style" on my control app it gives me an option to view all my "DSD" content. I use "DSD" as a style tag when ripping SACDs and editing the metadata. I have 14 SACDs ripped and all show correctly on the Asset version running on XP. The same albums are also style tagged with other values such "Mobile Fidelity" or other labels and all show correctly. The style values are separated with a semi-colon (.

R7 is running on a RPi that was previously running R6.6. When I browse into Style on this instance I see two entries for "DSD" but each only contain one album (so two albums in total, the other 12 are missing). All the other albums tagged with DSD are missing in the Style/DSD category. Some other Style tags are missing completely in the view and some Style tags have multiple entries (some times 4 entries) for the same tag value.

If there are multiples you should set the database entry to:

    Style

    (not Style,TEXT)
