Converting and tagging files from file name?

Does anyone have any idea how to convert the Frank Zappa Halloween 1977 24 bit / 44.1 kHz wave files to ALAC or FLAC and at the same time correctly tag them?
I mean that the file name is taken from the file and you don't have to name every single track manually.
That should be possible somehow without using other software like mp3tag, right?

    Every hint is most appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Thank you.
Sounds interesting. This is a windows tool, right?
But there ist a little problem: Chrome doesn't find the codecs.dbpoweramp.com site.
    Is it offline?

We are updating the server, hopefully the next few hours and it comes back, anyhow for OSX it is built in, see how to activate it:
