    Meta data lookup and Batchripper

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered before but, I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I have v16.6 Reference installed on Windows 10 Pro. I bought it ages ago as I had purchased an Acronova Nimbie and I wanted to rip my CD collection. I now want to re-rip to uncompressed FLAC and I have now got Metadata issues. I can use CD Ripper and that does the lookup no problem but, when I use Batchripper I get nothing and the disc gets rejected. I know that AMG is no more so I tried with just GD3, still nothing even with an account setup. I have also tried MusicBrainz and freedb, still nothing.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right but, clearly something is missing.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you

We updated Batch Ripper last week to fix metadata issues.

So, I have to pay to update to 17.1 to get this fixed?

R4 is creating a 32 bit temp installation file that will not execute. The OS is 32 bit.

Guilty of hijacking this thread but...

Is metadata free now with R4?

It looks like I lost a chunk of money on prepaid commercial lookups.

GD3 is still paid, AMG was discountinued a long time ago (we gave 2 years notice before they switched AMG off).

Will R4 pull from any of the free services?

freedb.org is now supported at gnudb.org. You can simply replace the settings for freedb in dbpoweramp with the new address and it will continue to work.

Mor einformation may be found at this address:

No need to change anything in the latest version of Batch Ripper, or dBpoweramp, they use our freedb server.

Re: Meta data lookup and Batchripper

    I am experiencing this issue.
I recently upgraded my system (a 6 drive windows 10 system) and all software to v17.1 with batch ripper to re-rip my collection. I figure this time around I'll be more thorough and do some testing before I jump in. During this testing the problem I've come across is that occasionally batch ripper will come across a disc that it will find the metadata for but will not find the album art. Where it gets weird is that the same disc using CD ripper acquires all the metadata including the album art.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You need to subscribe to GD3 within Batch Ripper, to get the same metadata as CD Ripper.
